Please bear in mind that some medical charities are not yet familiar with the latest treatments or those that are not available inside their own country.  Some have out-of-date material relating to the periods when treatments were still under development or deemed 'experimental'.

This includes but is not limited to CyberKnife^® radiosurgery. In 2001 the CyberKnife system received FDA (the US medical regulatory body) clearance for treatment of tumours anywhere in the body where radiation was indicated.  Many clinical studies have been published in medical journals, over 90,000 patients have received treatment and there are now 200 CyberKnife systems installed worldwide.

New treatments are often reported in the media, especially where a famous person or 'celebrity' is concerned, but it must be remembered that such reports are often limited and inaccurate.
